Reminder: Energy Efficient Tax Credit Expiring December 31, 2013

If you follow this blog, you’ll remember that we last posted about the energy efficient tax credit for energy efficient windows and doors in September, but with less than two months to go before the tax credit expires, we wanted to give you a final reminder!
Windows must be installed December 31, 2013 to qualify for the tax credit. When you factor in typical project lead times, you must act immediately if you want to take advantage of this tax credit before it goes away.
How to Qualify for the Energy Efficient Windows & Doors Tax Credit:
The requirements for qualifying for the energy efficient windows and door tax credit are:
- All ENERGY STAR qualified windows and doors.
- Credit of 10 percent up to $ 200 on windows.
- Credit of 10 percent up to $ 500 on doors.
- Installation labor costs NOT eligible.
- Total credit cannot exceed $ 500.
- Lifetime $ 500 tax credit limit; 2006 – 2012.
