Weather Shield Introduces New AIA/CES Course on Fenestration in Contemporary Residential Architecture

Weather Shield Windows & Doors is pleased to further its commitment to expanding the skills and knowledge of design professionals with the addition of its 11th AIA/CES continuing education course, “Fenestration in Contemporary Residential Architecture.” This 1 learning unit course discusses the importance of fenestration in contemporary residential architecture, both historically and today, and identifies window styles, window options, and performance measures architects will want to consider when specifying windows and doors for contemporary residences.
“Contemporary residential architecture attempts to maximize daylight, minimize ornamentation and connect interiors to the outdoors,” said Jeff Kibler, manager of architectural services at Weather Shield. “Fenestration plays a great role in achieving this aesthetic, especially when window and door products manufactured specifically for the contemporary design market are specified. This course will help architects understand the nuances that set products like our Contemporary Collection apart from windows and doors for more traditional architectural styles.”AIA_CES.jpg
